The Pastoral Council coordinates and helps evaluate the activities of all representative organizations of our Parish. A major Council consideration is to find and develop ways of increasing Christian influence within the Parish, the community of Pylesville, and the wider Church of Baltimore. It assists the Pastor in the administration of the parish through recommendations and active support. The Council accepts responsibility with the Pastor for the life and mission of the Church here at St. Mary’s. The Council has representation on the Harford Regional Council.

The members of the Pastoral Council are lay persons elected each May by the parishioners to a two-year term to represent all parishioners. Current elected members are:JoAnn Lingner, President; Mike Krechel , Vice President; and Susan Miller, Secretary. Pastoral Council meets the second Tuesday of the month (September through June) at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is open to all parishioners of St. Mary's. The Parish Business Manager is responsible for handling the records of the finances of the Parish, depositing monies, writing checks, maintaining the records on the computer and periodically publishing the current status of those financial records in comparison with the budget. The Parish Administrative Assistant is responsible for the operation of the Parish office during business hours, preparing the bulletin and other materials distributed to the parishioners, maintaining and keeping the office and computer files current, and generally performing those duties assigned by the Pastor. The maintenance person is a part-time employee of the parish, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all buildings and properties, ordinary repairs, grounds keeping, carpentry, electrical work, etc. Our maintenance person is Jack Smith, 410-879-4015, ext. 19.
